The main priority of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Poland is to lay the foundations for economic prosperity in Poland and to create the best conditions in Europe for doing business. The Ministry's legislative, administrative and coordinating functions in areas such as innovation policy, SME policy, energy policy, and external economic policy are geared to this task.
Measures implemented by the Ministry of Economy dedicated to enterprises and entrepreneurship are aimed at creating favorable conditions for their development through, inter alia strengthening competitive advantages and ultimately to achieve stable economic growth in the long term. These activities are primarily aimed at improving companies' access to capital, strengthening the entrepreneurial attitudes and institutional, organizational and financial strengthening of the business environment. These activities also fill the information gap by providing analysis of competitiveness of industrial sectors.
Ministry of Economy is responsible for carrying out tasks related to the development and coordination of the implementation of programs of economic development policies: entrepreneurship, innovation and industry in order to increase the competitiveness of the economy and to build stable foundations for growth to enable sustained and sustainable development.
The main executive document in the field of entrepreneurial innovation prepared by Ministry of Economy is Enterprise Development Program (EDP). The main purpose of EDP is to reach high and sustainable growth in productivity of the business sector leading to increase international competitiveness of the polish companies.
The strategic objective of the EDP is to increase an economic competitiveness through innovation and cooperation between business and science by escalating the demand for R&D, enhancing innovation in business sector, increasing R&D commercialization, and helping the internationalization of science sector. Instruments of the Program are aimed primarily at increasing the innovative potential of Polish enterprises.
