The National Centre for Research and Development

Founded in 2007, the National Centre for Research and Development (NCRD) is an executive governmental agency implementing national policies in science, technology and innovation.

NCRD supports businesses, scientific institutions and NGOs in developing innovative solutions strengthening the competitiveness of the Polish economy.

NCRD also supports commercialisation and technology transfer to various sectors of the economy.
It manages defence and homeland security applied research programmes as well as provides young scientists with career development opportunities.

The Centre provides funding to projects selected through competitive calls for proposals. NCRD plays a role of the Intermediate Body in EU Operational Programmes. In the EU 2014-2020 Financial Perspective the Centre will implement three Operational Programmes: Smart Growth – POIR, which is the continuation of the POIG, Knowledge Education Development - POWER, which is the continuation of the POKL and a new one, Digital Poland - POPC, which provides support to teams comprising talented IT developers.
